Coaching is a powerful non-directive development tool focusing on building strong self-awareness, efficacy and potential. I specialize in offering coaching to current/emerging leaders, individuals working through personal situations such as career shift or relationship challenge and individuals planning for post-career life.
I enjoy continuous professional development and value applied learning through experiential programs and participation in communities of practice. Specific process certifications I have completed that support my consulting practice include Appreciative Inquiry (Gervase Bushe, Simon Fraser University), Emotional Intelligence (Learning in Action), Guiding Organizational Change (Sundance Consulting), LEADS leadership framework (LEADS Canada) and Certified Leadership Coach (Essential Impact).
I also regularly attend on-line programs and workshops hosted by a number of community partners including SAIT Corporate Training, the Calgary chapter of the International Coaching Federation, the University of Calgary and Calgary Economic Development

John Partington
Director, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion / SAIT
I had the excellent experience of having Rob work with me as a leadership coach. I was looking to add a few more tools to my “leadership toolbox”, particularly around having difficult conversations and gaining confidence in executing on tough decisions. Rob’s approach and style were exactly what I needed; he challenged me in a supportive way and he gave me exercises and readings that helped me truly lean in to get the most out of his coaching. I came away from my work with Rob with new language and awareness for how to improve my leadership, and with a renewed appetite to explore how my leadership style can enhance the success of those around me.

I have had the pleasure of working with Rob over the past several years in many capacities, including; team coaching, leadership coach, individual coach and network connection. Most recently, Rob worked with me individually as I transitioned jobs. I am so excited for Rob to offer coaching services officially. Rob is passionate about helping people and teams reach their full potential, and regardless of his role, he truly does bring a coaching approach to every interaction.

Lots of people are smart and strategic. Far fewer combine smarts and strategy with common sense, the ability to read a room and a healthy measure of humility. Rob is one of the few. I first met Rob through cycling — what else? — and then had the pleasure of working with him at SAIT. He delivered thoughtful and effective workshops to help my team plan and adapt to a period of intense organizational change. I also watched him collaborate across the institution to develop important new programs and initiatives. I continue to be impressed by Rob’s commitment to improving his own skills and experience so that he can help others do the same.

retired Communications executive
I met and became friends with Rob as a result of our shared enthusiasm for cycling. In his role as Ambassador for the BCC he leads many rides I attend. Rob frequently uses opportunities during rides he leads to educate and coach riders; whether it's on hydration, safety or improving human performance. Rob also regularly invites ride participants to share their personal experiences and tips with fellow riders
